Terms and Conditions for Ski Camps Operated in British Columbia, Canada
Rookie Academy Canada / Guy Dale Ski Company

 

1. Booking and Payment

  • Reservation Confirmation: A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of full payment or a non-refundable deposit as specified during registration.

  • Payment Methods: Payments are accepted via credit card, bank transfer, or other payment options outlined during the registration process.

  • Payment Procedures: Payments are made in full upon online registration for all Camps held in Canada.

  • Payment Deadlines: Full payment must be received no later than 30 days prior to the camp start date unless otherwise stated.

  • Late Payments: Failure to meet payment deadlines may result in cancellation of your reservation without refund.

  • Currency: All prices are listed and must be paid in Canadian Dollars (CAD) including GST, unless otherwise stated.

 

2. Participant Eligibility and Responsibilities

  • Skill Level: Participants must meet the minimum skill level requirements specified for the camp.

  • Fitness: Participants must be in good physical health and capable of participating in advanced skiing activities.

  • Equipment: Participants must provide their own skiing equipment, including appropriate safety gear (e.g., helmets).

  • Compliance: Participants must comply with local resort rules, provincial laws, and instructor guidelines at all times.

  • Behavioral Standards: The provider reserves the right to remove participants from the camp without refund if their behavior is deemed unsafe, disruptive, or disrespectful.

 

3. Services Provided

  • Instruction Only: Rookie Academy Canada provides instructional services only. Participants are responsible for arranging:

    • Accommodation

    • Travel to and from the resort

    • Lift tickets and passes

    • Meals and additional expenses

  • Program Changes: The provider reserves the right to modify camp schedules, activities, or instructors based on weather conditions, safety concerns, or instructor availability.

 

4. Insurance

  • Participant Insurance: Participants are strongly advised to have comprehensive travel, medical, and accident insurance that covers:

    • Skiing-related injuries

    • Medical expenses

    • Emergency evacuation

    • Trip cancellations

  • Provider Insurance: Rookie Academy Canada / Guy Dale Ski Company maintains $10 million liability insurance as required by British Columbia law.

 

5. Cancellations and Refunds

5.1 Participant Cancellations:

  • Cancellations must be made in writing via email.

  • Refunds are subject to the following conditions:

    • More than 14 days before camp start date: Refund minus a $200 administration fee.

    • Within 14 days of camp start date: No refunds will be provided.

  • No Shows: Participants who fail to attend the camp for any reason will not be eligible for a refund.

5.2 Provider Cancellations:

  • In the event the camp is canceled by Rookie Academy Canada / Guy Dale Ski Company due to insufficient registrations, instructor unavailability, or other internal reasons, participants will receive:

    • A full refund

    • Or the option to transfer credit to a future camp

  • Weather-Related Interruptions: No refunds will be provided for interruptions caused by weather conditions, resort closures, or external events. Efforts will be made to reschedule or adjust the program.

 

6. Safety and Conduct

  • Acknowledgement of Risk: Skiing is an inherently risky activity, including but not limited to:

    • Changing weather and snow conditions

    • Terrain hazards

    • Equipment failures

    • Collisions with objects or other skiers

  • Participant Responsibility: Participants accept full responsibility for their own safety, decisions, and actions on the slopes.

  • Safety Guidelines: Participants must follow all safety instructions from instructors and resort staff.

  • Safety Equipment: Helmets are mandatory for all participants.

  • Injury Protocol: In the event of injury, instructors will provide initial assistance and arrange for further medical support if necessary.

 

7. Force Majeure

  • The provider is not responsible for cancellations, delays, or modifications caused by force majeure events, including but not limited to:

    • Extreme weather conditions

    • Natural disasters (e.g., avalanches, earthquakes, floods)

    • Government-imposed restrictions or travel bans

    • Pandemics, epidemics, or other public health emergencies

    • Resort closures or operational disruptions

  • No Refunds: In the event of a force majeure, no refunds will be provided.

  • Credit Transfer: The provider will make every reasonable effort to reschedule the camp or offer credit towards a future program.

 

8. Liability Waiver

  • All participants are required to sign a Liability Waiver and Assumption of Risk Agreement prior to registration and the start of the camp.

  • By signing the waiver, participants acknowledge:

    • The inherent risks associated with skiing activities.

    • Their acceptance of full responsibility for their safety and well-being.

    • That Rookie Academy Canada / Guy Dale Ski Company, its trainers, employees, and partners are not liable for injuries, losses, or damages sustained during the camp.

 

9. Photography and Media Release

  • Participants may be photographed or filmed during camp activities.

  • By participating, participants consent to the use of their images and videos for promotional purposes, including social media, websites, and marketing materials.

  • Participants may opt out by submitting a written request prior to the start of the camp.

 

10. Privacy Policy

  • Personal information collected during registration will be handled in accordance with Canadian privacy laws.

  • Data will not be shared with third parties except as required for camp operations (e.g., insurance, resort coordination).

 

11. Governing Law

  • These terms and conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada.

  • Any disputes arising from these terms will be resolved in the appropriate courts of British Columbia.

 

12. Agreement to Terms

By booking a camp with Rookie Academy Canada / Guy Dale Ski Company, participants confirm they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
